2026 YKS DATE: WHEN IS THE YKS?
TYT (Basic Proficiency Test): Saturday, June 20, 2026 | Time: 10:15 | Duration: 165 Minutes.
AYT (Field Proficiency Tests): Sunday, June 21, 2026 | Time: 10:15 | Duration: 180 Minutes.
YDT (Foreign Language Test): Sunday, June 21, 2026 | Time: 15:45 | Duration: 120 Minutes.
Candidates must be present at the exam buildings at least 1 hour before the exam time. Candidates will not be admitted to the exam buildings after 10:00 (15:30 for the YDT).

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) has not yet made an official announcement regarding whether public transport will be free for the YKS to be held on June 20-21, 2026. Once an announcement is published by the İBB, our news will be updated with the details.
HOW WAS THE PRACTICE LAST YEAR?
Last year, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality offered free public transport to candidates taking the YKS and to exam officials. Citizens who presented their exam entrance document or official ID were able to use the İETT and private public buses, metrobus, metro, tram, funicular, cable car, nostalgic tram, Tünel, and Şehir Hatları ferries included in the Istanbulkart integration free of charge.
