In the 2026 season 14 international lines connect Turkey with the Greek islands and Northern Cyprus: Bodrum/Turgutreis–Kos, Bodrum–Tilos, Marmaris/Fethiye–Rhodes, Marmaris/Datça–Symi, Çeşme–Chios, Kuşadası/Seferihisar–Samos, Ayvalık/Aliağa–Lesvos, Çanakkale–Lemnos and Taşucu–Kyrenia.

Do Turkish citizens need a visa for Greek island ferries?

Turkish citizens generally need a Schengen visa to enter Greece. A special on-arrival (door) visa program covers 12 selected islands including Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Kos, Rhodes and Symi for short stays — but it is valid only on the island of entry. Islands like Tilos are not included and require a Schengen visa in advance.

Do I need to book Turkey–Greece ferries in advance?

In July and August, yes — fast catamarans have limited capacity and morning day-trip departures sell out. Outside peak season buying a day or two ahead is usually enough. Always reconfirm departure times with the operator.

How early should I arrive at the port?

These are international crossings with passport control: arrive at least 60 minutes before departure, or 90 minutes in July-August when exit queues are longest.
