Samos (Sisam), Vathy — Yunanistan Adaları · 4 active ferry routes
The main commercial port located in Vathy, the capital of Samos Island. Serving as the northern terminal for the Kusadasi-Samos ferry route, it is situated 200 meters from the island's administrative center.
Samos (Vathi) Port is the primary maritime gateway to Samos, one of the most important and strategic islands in the Greek Aegean Sea. It is located on the northeastern coast of the island, right in the center of Vathy (Samos Town), the island's capital. With its historical charm, vibrant daily life, and proximity to administrative centers, Vathi Port is one of the most preferred destinations for passengers arriving from Turkey and other Greek Islands routes.
The port is just a 200-meter walk from the Greek administrative center, customs buildings, and police station. This allows border crossings and visa procedures to be completed extremely quickly and practically. The moment you step out of the port, you are welcomed by seafood tavernas, cafes, boutique hotels, and car rental offices stretching along the coastline. For those looking to explore both the historical and touristic sides of Samos, Vathi Port is an excellent starting point.
Samos Vathi Port is located at coordinates 37.7559°N latitude and 26.9762°E longitude, nestled deep within a sheltered bay. This naturally protected structure shields the port from the harsh winds of the Aegean Sea, allowing ferries to dock safely year-round. Known for its proximity to the Turkish coast, the narrowest point of the Mycale Strait between Samos Island and Kusadasi is just 1.6 kilometers. This geographical advantage ensures a very short sea voyage.
The island has two main ports handling ferry traffic. One is Vathi Port in the capital, and the other is the touristic Pythagorion Port in the south, located right next to the UNESCO World Heritage ancient city. While Vathi maintains its bustling activity year-round as the commercial and administrative capital, it also holds a strategic position for accessing popular holiday resorts on the northern routes, such as Kokkari.

For those who want to enjoy the sea and sun, Kokkari, one of the island's most famous beaches, is only 12 km from the port and can be easily reached by bus. Furthermore, to taste Samos's world-renowned sweet muscat wine, you can visit the Samos Wine Museum, which is within walking distance of the port, and participate in wine tasting events.
