Turkish citizens: An ID card (nüfus cüzdanı) is sufficient — passport is NOT required to enter Northern Cyprus. Biometric chip ID is preferred. If you plan to cross to Southern Cyprus (EU side), a passport is required.
Other nationalities: A valid passport is required. Most nationalities can enter Northern Cyprus visa-free for tourism (up to 90 days). Note that entering Northern Cyprus may complicate later EU visa applications via the Republic of Cyprus.
