The launch date for the highly anticipated Edremit Gulf sea route is set: Direct ferry services between Akçay and the Greek island of Lesvos will begin on July 17, 2026. The route will be operated by BADO – Balıkesir Deniz Otobüsleri.

This new route extending from Akçay to Lesvos will make a significant contribution to both Edremit Gulf tourism and the tourism mobility between Turkey and Greece. While İDO Aegean Islands sailings continue daily during the high season, the anticipated date for a direct crossing from the north of the Gulf has now been finalized.
