A New Era for Istanbul Şehir Hatları: The 2026 Summer Ferry Schedule Has Begun
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Şehir Hatları has announced the launch of its new summer schedule, valid from June 29 to September 6, 2026. Operating 839 daily trips across 32 routes, this new period features increased services to the Princes' Islands (Adalar), alongside the return of weekend night ferries and the highly anticipated Moonlight Tours (Mehtap Turları).
Officially rolling out on June 29, 2026, the new summer schedule by İBB Şehir Hatları is set to significantly ease maritime transit across the city. Carrying approximately 40 million passengers annually and boasting a deep-rooted 175-year history, Şehir Hatları will operate an average of 839 daily ferry trips across 32 different routes until September 6, 2026. Designed to meet the surging travel demand of Istanbulites during the summer months, the updated timetable highlights expanded operations on the Princes' Islands routes, weekend night services, and the traditional Moonlight Tours.
The Princes' Islands (Adalar) route, a top choice for both domestic and international tourists during the summer, will operate at full capacity throughout the 2026 season. In addition to the Tuzla-Pendik-Princes' Islands route—which opened two years ago and has drawn immense interest—voyage frequencies will be increased on the Maltepe-Princes' Islands, Kabataş-Princes' Islands, Princes' Islands-Beşiktaş, Büyükada-Sedef Island, and Bostancı-Princes' Islands ring routes, ensuring seamless transportation.
Night services, which greatly facilitate weekend transit for Istanbulites, will continue uninterrupted throughout the summer schedule. While regular nightly trips will operate on the Bostancı-Princes' Islands ring route, seamless transportation will be maintained on the Kadıköy-Karaköy-Beşiktaş route during the overnight hours connecting Friday and Saturday nights to the following days.
