Getting to the Piers

It is also possible to reach the Eminönü bus platforms via IETT buses departing from all over Istanbul. The Sirkeci Marmaray station is just a few minutes' walk from the pier. Since finding parking around Eminönü is quite difficult and costly, public transportation should be preferred. Our destination, Üsküdar Pier, is at least as rich in transportation options as Eminönü. As soon as you exit the pier, you can easily access the Marmaray station, the Üsküdar-Çekmeköy Metro Line (M5), and bus and minibus stops heading to many points on the Asian Side. Although there are paid parking areas along the Üsküdar coastline and its surroundings, their capacities are limited.

Traveling with a Vehicle

The Eminönü - Üsküdar Şehir Hatları ferry route serves foot passengers only. Cars, motorcycles, or commercial vehicles are not allowed on these ferries. Boarding is only permitted with non-motorized and personal vehicles such as bicycles, foldable scooters, and baby strollers (subject to certain rules). Drivers wishing to cross from the European Side to the Asian Side with their vehicles can opt for the Harem - Sirkeci car ferries departing from Sirkeci Pier, located very close to Eminönü. Alternatively, the Eurasia Tunnel, the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, or the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge can be used for intercontinental crossings by car. If you are traveling on foot, there is no check-in procedure to board the ferry; simply pass through the turnstile and step aboard.
