Çanakkale, Kepez — Çanakkale · 2 active ferry routes
A modern terminal open to international passenger traffic, located 5 km from the Çanakkale city center. Starting June 13, 2026, it will be Turkey's first international maritime gateway connecting directly to Lemnos.
Located at one of the most strategic and touristic points of the Dardanelles Strait, Kepez Port is one of the shining stars of Turkey's maritime transportation with its modern infrastructure and innovative vision. Situated just 5 kilometers from the Çanakkale city center, this massive facility is designed to provide world-class services for both freight and passenger transport. Continuously modernized over the years in line with the region's increasing tourism potential and commercial volume, the pier now stands out with its spacious waiting lounges, customs areas, and architecture that prioritizes passenger comfort.
The most important development that elevates Kepez Port to a special position in our maritime history is undoubtedly its opening to international passenger traffic. Starting June 13, 2026, the port will hold the title of Turkey's first international maritime gateway connecting directly to the Greek island of Lemnos, creating a brand-new tourism corridor in the Aegean Sea. This historic step will not only shorten the distance between Çanakkale and Lemnos but also strengthen the cultural and economic ties between the two shores. Within our All Ports network, the port stands out with its international character, serving as a fully equipped border crossing with customs and passport control points.
Administratively, Kepez Port is located within the borders of the Kepez district of Çanakkale province. The exact address of the facility is "Kepez Mahallesi, Liman Caddesi, 17100 Kepez/Çanakkale," and it is positioned at the coordinates 40.1391000° North latitude and 26.4267000° East longitude. Isolated from the noise and traffic of the city center, this area also has a tremendous advantage in terms of land transportation thanks to its proximity to the İzmir-Çanakkale highway.
The terminal building was constructed in full compliance with international maritime rules (ISPS Code). Equipped with the latest technology for the safety and comfort of passengers, the port features deep-water piers where multiple large-tonnage ferries and cruise ships can dock simultaneously. As a customs area, the terminal's general features include international departure fee payment points, passport control cabins, and duty-free shops. The expansive dock area is designed to provide a flawless traffic flow for cars, caravans, and buses boarding and disembarking from car ferries.
By virtue of its location, Kepez Port is one of the most strategic crossing points in the North Aegean. The international voyages, which will start especially in 2026, will form the main operational backbone of this port. The current routes departing from and arriving at the port are listed below:
These routes will serve as a main artery for both Turkish and foreign tourists crossing to the Aegean islands, especially during the summer months. Suitable for both foot passengers and those with vehicles, these ferry services offer a game-changing alternative for travel from Turkey to the Greek islands. To explore all our other routes, you can visit our All Ferry Routes page.
To reach Kepez Port, you first need to arrive in Çanakkale. Thanks to its geographical location, Çanakkale is a city easily accessible by land, air, and sea. Çanakkale Airport is located quite close to Kepez Port. After getting off the plane, you can reach the port terminal directly by taxi in about 10-15 minutes. Private shuttle services for airport transfers also operate periodically.
For passengers preferring intercity buses, the Çanakkale Bus Terminal is located close to the center. Public buses heading towards Kepez from the bus terminal (especially lines Ç11K and Ç11G) pass directly through Liman Caddesi, bringing passengers right to the terminal's door. There is no train or metro network in Çanakkale; however, the developed municipal bus network and 24/7 taxi stands fully meet transportation needs. Passengers arriving with their own vehicles can follow the D550 (E87) highway, turn off at the Kepez signs, and enter the port within a few minutes.
As an international maritime gateway, Kepez Port is equipped to meet all the pre- and post-travel needs of passengers. The facilities located within the terminal building include:
If you plan to spend a few days in Çanakkale while waiting for your ferry or before your trip, there are historical and touristic spots you must see around Kepez Port and in the city center:
General ferry rules in Turkey are also strictly applied in Kepez Port operations. Tickets are issued entirely on a personalized basis; therefore, you must present your passport or a valid ID document along with your ticket during boarding. Especially for the international Lemnos route, having prior knowledge about visa processes (Schengen or gate visa applications) will speed up your boarding process.
While you can handle your ticketing at the port's ticket offices or through call centers, we strongly recommend booking your tickets online in advance, considering the high demand during the summer season (May to September). While additional voyages are scheduled in the summer timetable, the number of trips is reduced in the winter timetable (October to April). Due to the windy nature of the North Aegean, ferry cancellations caused by adverse weather conditions can occasionally occur. Before your trip, you can check our Current Announcements page to stay informed about possible schedule changes. For your budget planning, you can review our Ferry Prices page to get detailed information about both foot passenger and vehicle crossing fees.
