Ortaköy Pier is located on the coastline of the European Side, between Beşiktaş and Kuruçeşme. Getting here is quite easy. You can reach it by walking from the center of Beşiktaş in about 20-25 minutes, or you can take the coastal buses (22, 22RE, 25E, 40T, 42T) departing from Kabataş or Beşiktaş and get off directly at the Ortaköy stop. Additionally, for those coming from the Asian Side, Şehir Hatları ferries and passenger boats dock directly at the pier. During peak traffic hours, the sea route is the most logical option.
Since the Ottoman era, Ortaköy has been a cosmopolitan neighborhood where different cultures, religions, and nationalities have lived together in peace. Ortaköy Pier stands at the very heart of this historical texture, side by side with the Grand Mecidiye Mosque, and has hosted maritime activities for centuries. Long Bosphorus routes heading towards Eminönü and Sarıyer also stop at this pier at certain hours.
As soon as you step off the pier, the famous Ortaköy Square welcomes you. The Grand Mecidiye Mosque (Ortaköy Mosque), fascinating with its Neo-Baroque style, is the first place you should visit. The kumpir (baked potato) street and waffle shops in the square are among the gastronomic symbols of the area. Additionally, historical buildings like the Esma Sultan Mansion, souvenir stalls, and luxury restaurants with Bosphorus views are within walking distance. With a short walk towards Beşiktaş, you can also explore the Çırağan Palace.
