About Yeşil Marmaris
Founded in 1981 in Marmaris, one of Turkey's premier tourism destinations, Yeşil Marmaris operates as one of the region's most established and reliable travel agencies. Prioritizing customer satisfaction and safe travel standards since its inception, the company is a proud TURSAB member and a leading player in the tourism sector. Specializing in maritime transport that connects the two shores of the Aegean, Yeşil Marmaris is a primary operator on the Marmaris-Rhodes route.
With over forty years of experience in maritime and tourism, Yeşil Marmaris goes beyond ferry transport by organizing yacht charters and daily blue cruise tours for those looking to explore the unique bays of the Aegean and Mediterranean. Committed to providing top-tier service to both domestic and international tourists, the company blends a modern vision with traditional Turkish hospitality to promise passengers an unforgettable travel experience.
Fleet and Vessels
Yeşil Marmaris operates a modern, well-equipped, and seaworthy fleet designed to transport passengers safely and swiftly across Aegean waters. The backbone of the company's fleet consists of the high-speed passenger ferries (catamaran type) named Yeşilmar I and Yeşilmar II.
Depending on the season and route density, these vessels operate with a capacity of 200 to 280 passengers. As high-speed ferries, Yeşilmar I and Yeşilmar II minimize travel time from Marmaris to Rhodes, allowing vacationers to spend their time on the island rather than in transit. The interior design of the ships prioritizes passenger comfort, featuring ergonomic seating, climate control systems, and spacious passenger lounges. Fully compliant with international maritime standards (IMO) for navigational safety, these vessels undergo periodic maintenance to ensure they are flawlessly prepared for every season.
Routes Served
The main operational area for Yeşil Marmaris is between Turkey's southwestern coast and Rhodes, the largest of Greece's Dodecanese islands. By operating regular services on the Marmaris - Rhodes route, the company makes a significant contribution to strengthening the touristic, cultural, and commercial ties between the two countries.
Ferry services typically become active in March, as the tourism season begins to pick up, and continue uninterrupted until the end of November. To meet passenger demand, especially during the peak summer months, daily high-speed ferry services are organized. Ferries departing from Marmaris in the morning and returning from Rhodes in the evening offer an excellent schedule for day-trippers. Ticket Purchasing Process
There are several important international maritime rules to consider when purchasing your Yeşil Marmaris ferry ticket and planning your trip. Tickets are issued strictly on a personal basis and cannot be transferred to another person under any circumstances. To avoid any disruptions on your travel day, you must be present at the port at least 1.5 hours before the ship's departure time for check-in and passport control procedures.
Under the baggage rules, each passenger is entitled to carry 1 standard suitcase and 1 handbag (additional bag) free of charge. Excess baggage exceeding these limits is subject to a fee. As a critical rule for families with children: if a child under 18 is traveling with only one parent, a notarized letter of consent from the non-traveling parent must be presented. To get information about current departure times, campaign details, and fares, you can review our Ferry Prices page.
Passport and Border Crossing
Since travel from Marmaris to Rhodes constitutes an international border crossing, passengers must strictly adhere to passport and visa regulations. All passengers are required to have a passport with at least 6 months of validity as of their travel date. Additionally, biometric photo requirements may arise for customs and visa procedures.
The Gate Visa program, which provides great convenience for Turkish citizens traveling to the Greek islands, is valid for Rhodes. With this program, Turkish citizens can obtain a gate visa valid for up to 15 days upon entry to Greece without needing to apply for a Schengen visa in advance. However, if the planned stay exceeds 15 days, a standard Schengen visa application is mandatory. European Union (EU) citizens can travel comfortably with their chipped ID cards or passports. According to customs regulations, the limits for entering and exiting the country are set at 2 liters for alcohol, 200 cigarettes (1 carton), and 50 ml for perfume. For more comprehensive information on visa processes, we recommend reading our Passport and Visa Guide page.
Cancellations, Refunds, and Adverse Weather
In accordance with international ferry transport regulations, there is no standard right of cancellation or refund for purchased tickets. However, flexible solutions are offered to prevent passenger inconvenience. If your travel plans change, you can process a date change for your open status tickets by notifying the company at least 2 days (48 hours) before the travel date.
In maritime transport, passenger safety comes first. Therefore, in the event of severe storms or adverse weather conditions that hinder navigation, voyages may be canceled by the decision of the Port Authority. Only in such official weather-related cancellations are passengers refunded their full ticket price without any deductions, or, upon the passenger's request, the ticket is transferred to a different date free of charge.
