Port Guide
About Aliağa Port (Aliaport)
Aliaport Sea Passenger Port is a modern port that opened to international passenger traffic in 2026, located in the Aliağa district, approximately 50 km north of Izmir. Established in Aliağa, one of Turkey's significant industrial and port cities, this facility is the newest sea gateway connecting Izmir and its surroundings to the Greek islands. The port's first and currently only international route is the Aliağa - Mytilene (Lesvos) ferry route, jointly operated by Turyol and Jalem Tur under the 'Turyol Jalem' brand.
Location and Transportation
The port can be reached from Izmir city center by car in approximately 30 minutes via the new highway connection. For those using public transportation, the most practical option is the İZBAN suburban line: the pier is easily accessible from the Aliağa stop. In this regard, Aliaport is one of the rare international ferry ports directly connected to Izmir city center by public transport.
Port Facilities
- Free parking: A parking lot with a capacity for 200 vehicles is free within its capacity — a significant advantage for those leaving their car in Turkey and traveling to the island.
- No port tax: No port tax is charged for departures from this port.
- Modern passenger lounge: Passport and customs control points, waiting areas, and ticket offices are all consolidated in a single terminal.
Which Routes Are Served?
From the port, a fast catamaran service departs daily at 08:00 for Mytilene (Lesvos) throughout the season; the return journey is from Mytilene at 17:30 and the trip takes approximately 110 minutes. Currently, the route only carries passengers; vehicle services are planned to commence within the season. An adult ticket is 35 € one-way, and 45 € for a round trip.
Practical Information
As this is an international crossing, it is recommended to be at the port at least 1 hour before departure. Since Mytilene is in the Schengen area, holders of burgundy passports must have a valid Schengen visa and travel health insurance; for current conditions, please refer to our visa guide.
