Located in the town of Taşucu in Mersin's Silifke district, Taşucu Port is the main gateway for passenger and vehicle transport between the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Situated on the Eastern Mediterranean coast at the shortest maritime distance directly routed to Kyrenia (Girne), the port has been the heart of TRNC transportation since the 1980s.
Taşucu Port is 11 km from the Silifke district center and approximately 80 km from the center of Mersin. It is easily accessible via the D-400 coastal road from the Antalya direction and the O-51 highway from the Adana-Mersin direction. Regular minibuses run to Taşucu from the Silifke and Mersin bus terminals. Landing at Adana Şakirpaşa or Hatay Airport and traveling by road is the most common method.
The main route of Taşucu Port is the passenger and car ferry services to Kyrenia (Girne) Port in the TRNC. The Grand Master and Flying Anka fast ferries, operated by Akgünler Denizcilik, carry out daytime voyages, while the Via Mare ship offers comfortable nighttime cabin crossings. Regular departures are scheduled every day during the summer season and 4 days a week during the winter season.
