About Turyol
Founded in Istanbul in 1986 and standing as one of Turkey's most established maritime transport companies, Turyol provides international-standard services in the Aegean Sea with years of experience. Adopting a safe, fast, and comfortable travel approach since its inception, the company is today one of the most important actors in maritime transport between the Turkish coast and Greece. Offering comprehensive solutions for both foot passengers and holidaymakers wishing to travel with their vehicles, Turyol serves as a bridge connecting the two shores of the Aegean. With its modern fleet and an operational structure centered on customer satisfaction, it safely transports hundreds of thousands of tourists to their dream holiday destinations every year.
Fleet: Catamaran Samos and Fokaia Comparison
To respond to different travel needs, Turyol maintains 8 fully equipped vessels in its fleet. The two most prominent stars of this extensive fleet are the Catamaran Samos and Fokaia. You can choose between these two vessel types based on your travel plans and priorities.
Catamaran Samos: Focusing solely on passenger transport, this fast catamaran is ideal for holidaymakers with limited time who want to reach the island as quickly as possible. Thanks to its high cruising speed, it minimizes the sea journey time, offering a smooth travel experience with its comfortable seating arrangement and enclosed air-conditioned lounges.
Fokaia: Operating on the classic passenger and car ferry concept, Fokaia is indispensable for those who want to continue their holiday with their own car, motorcycle, or caravan. Standing out with its spacious vehicle deck and open areas, this vessel provides a nostalgic and enjoyable ferry experience for those who love to travel feeling the Aegean breeze and enjoying the scenery on deck.
Routes and Lines
Turyol organizes regular voyages from Turkey's most popular holiday resorts to the neighboring Greek Islands. The company's main operational center and busiest route is the Ayvalik-Lesvos line. With daily departures on this route, passengers departing from Ayvalik can quickly reach the Port of Mytilini area, the heart of the island.
Turyol's service network is not limited to Lesvos. For those who want to cross from Izmir's apple of the eye, Cesme, to the neighboring island famous for its mastic trees, Cesme-Chios voyages are organized. Additionally, direct access to Samos, the homeland of Pythagoras, is provided by ferries departing from Aydin's tourism center, Kusadasi. These three main lines create a flawless transportation network for those who want to engage in island tourism in the Aegean.

This way, you can board the ship quickly and contactlessly by simply scanning the barcode on your phone, without waiting in ticket lines at the port. For any questions and support requests, you can get help from the company's call center at +90 850 303 10 10.
Passport and Visa Rules
Ferry travel between Turkey and Greece holds the status of an international border crossing. Therefore, all passengers are required to have a passport valid for at least 6 months as of the travel date. Visa rules for Turkish citizens vary depending on the length of stay. For touristic visits of up to 15 days, you can travel by taking advantage of the "Gate Visa" program applied specifically to the islands by Greece. However, if you plan to stay on the island for more than 15 days, you must have a valid Schengen visa. We highly recommend reviewing our Passport Guide page for detailed information about visa processes, required documents, and border gate procedures.
Baggage Allowance and Cancellation/Refund Conditions
To ensure passenger comfort on Turyol voyages, a standard baggage policy is applied. Each passenger is entitled to carry 1 large suitcase and 1 piece of hand luggage (additional bag). This limit is set to maintain order on board and ensure a safe journey.
Weather conditions are of great importance in maritime transport. Turyol prioritizes passenger safety above all else. In the event of a ferry cancellation due to force majeure such as adverse weather conditions, storms, or decisions by port authorities, ticket fees are fully refunded without any deductions to prevent passenger grievance. Optionally, you also have the right to suspend your ticket for a different date or change it.
