The additional services operated during peak hours on the Bostanlı–Üçkuyular Car Ferry Line by İZDENİZ, a subsidiary of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, are easing city traffic. Between May 4 and June 28, approximately 20,000 vehicles opted for sea transport instead of the roads, as the initiative provided drivers with a faster, more comfortable, and sustainable transportation alternative. To alleviate city traffic and offer drivers a faster, more comfortable, and sustainable travel option, İZDENİZ is continuing its additional evening services on the Bostanlı–Üçkuyular Car Ferry Line. As part of the initiative launched on May 4, 2026, the frequency of trips has been increased, particularly between 17:00 and 19:00, encouraging vehicles to use sea transport rather than navigating the city's road traffic. Initially launched with 6 vessels, the additional service program was expanded last week with the introduction of a 7th ship. Drivers have shown great interest in the services, which run approximately every 7 minutes during peak hours. Nearly 20,000 vehicles crossed the Gulf. Thanks to the additional services implemented between May 4 and June 28, approximately 20,000 vehicles used the Bostanlı-Üçkuyular Car Ferry Line. Drivers who opted for sea transport during rush hours not only helped reduce the burden on road traffic but also enjoyed faster and more comfortable travel via the car ferry line.
