ISTANBUL - Şehir Hatları, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, has transitioned to a new maritime transportation schedule with the arrival of the summer season. Serving millions of passengers across the city, the institution's summer timetable, launched today (June 29), will remain in effect until September 6, 2026. Under the new plan, an average of 839 daily trips will be operated across 32 routes, aiming to fully meet the increased passenger demand during the summer months.
NIGHT FERRY SERVICES TO CONTINUE UNINTERRUPTED
As part of the summer program, the night transportation services that make life easier for Istanbulites will continue exactly as before. Night trips on the Bostancı - Princes' Islands ring route will continue to operate uninterrupted every day of the week. On the heavily used Kadıköy - Karaköy - Beşiktaş route, weekend night journeys connecting Friday night to Saturday, and Saturday night to Sunday, will be at the service of Istanbulites throughout the summer.
BUSY SEASON SCHEDULE FOR PRINCES' ISLANDS ROUTES
Ferry frequency has been increased on the Princes' Islands routes, which are among the most highly demanded destinations by both domestic and foreign tourists during the summer months. The routes that will be supported with additional capacity throughout the season have been announced as follows:
- Tuzla - Pendik - Princes' Islands
- Maltepe - Princes' Islands
- Kabataş - Princes' Islands
- Princes' Islands - Beşiktaş
- Bostancı - Princes' Islands Ring Route
- Büyükada - Sedef Island
BOSPHORUS TOURS TO BE HELD DAILY
For those who want to enjoy the blue waters and view the Bosphorus from the sea, the traditional short and long Bosphorus tours will be operated once a day throughout the summer season. Anticipating the potential crowds on public holidays and festive days, Şehir Hatları will increase the number of daily Short Bosphorus Tour departures to two.
