İDO Launches Taşucu-Kyrenia Ferry Services on September 28, 2026

Istanbul Sea Buses (İDO) is expanding its maritime transport network, venturing into the Mediterranean, and has announced it will commence scheduled passenger services from September 28, 2026, between Taşucu Port and Kyrenia Port in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This new route will mark İDO's first regular passenger transport operation in the Mediterranean, following its activities in the Marmara and Aegean Seas, offering a significant alternative for sea travel between Turkey and the TRNC.

New Route: Information on the Taşucu-Kyrenia Line

İDO's new venture in the Mediterranean will provide great convenience, especially for university students, tourists, and regular travelers between the two countries. The company states that this route was launched in response to high demand from passengers.

According to the announced schedule, the first services on the Taşucu-Kyrenia line will commence on September 28, 2026. The service schedule for October is as follows:

• From Taşucu to Kyrenia:
  • Daily between October 1-10 at 15:30.
  • After October 10, on October 13, 15, 17, and 19, then continuing every other day.
• From Kyrenia to Taşucu:
  • Daily until October 11 at 11:00.
  • The subsequent schedule plans services on October 12, 14, 16, and 18, then continuing every other day.

Planned Number of Services

İDO aims to operate a total of 49 round-trip services during the September-November period. The service distribution is as follows:

• Taşucu-Kyrenia direction:
  • September: 3 services
  • October: 21 services
• Kyrenia-Taşucu direction:
  • September: 2 services
  • October: 22 services

One round-trip service is also planned for November.

The announced ticket fares for the Taşucu-Kyrenia line are as follows:

• Full fare ticket: 2.509 TL
• Discounted ticket: 2.250 TL
• Round-trip: 4.500 TL
